Hey There

People Management Done Differently is a completely new approach to Management & Leadership Development in the charity / social good sector

we're on a mission

to

lift.

management & leadership knowledge, skill, confidence and culture across entire organisations

This statistic from Gallup underscores the significant impact that Management and Leadership quality has on colleague motivation and performance

And yet between 41% and 59% of Managers have never received any kind of management training

The programme elements

Part A

The formal management & leadership training courses

NB - available to all current and aspiring people-managers and leaders

Fundamentals of Management.png

A 6-module programme for first time people managers, moving from purely contributor roles to managing one or more people (probably still with contributor responsibilities as well); or for those who've already made that move but not had any formal support or training

The programme covers the nuts and bolts of the changes necessary to make this transition

The 6 modules cover:

1. Manager Mindset - The transition from team contributor to people manager
2. Goal setting and measurement
3. Great Communication
4. Effective feedback & performance review
5. Delegate and Coach - support, don’t do-for
6. Teams and team dynamics

Successful Hybrid & Remote teams.png

An 8-module programme for people managers whose team members predominantly work in different places and only come together in-person once in a while

Hybrid, remote and work-from-anywhere teams are the future of work.  They allow great flexibility, they reduce commute time, they allow work-life balance benefits and they help in retaining amazing colleagues.  But not created, managed or led correctly, and remote and hybrid teams can soon become isolating, unengaged, distracting and dysfunctional.

In this programme you will learn about intricacies of hybrid teams and team dynamics, about harnessing the power of technology, and about fostering a culture of collaboration across physical and virtual boundaries.  Each module provides practical tools and actionable insights, enabling attendees to create successful and thriving remote and wfh teams

The 8 modules cover:
1. Understanding Hybrid & Remote teams
2. Hybrid & Remote Team Culture and Relationships
3. Remote People-Management Essentials
4. Hybrid & Remote Communication
5. Technology and collaboration
6. Remote performance management
7. Isolation and Loneliness
8. Boundaries and Work/Life Balance

Wellbeing-led management.png

Wellbeing-Led Management is a 12-module certificated programme which really digs deep into the understanding of people skills, self-awareness, and emotional intelligence.  Wellbeing-led management focuses on an approach to people-management that places the wellbeing of the people-manager and the person being managed at the heart of the relationship

The modules are each around 75 minutes and cover:
1  What makes a manager a manager?
2  13 ingredients of great managing
3  Self Awareness - Individuals & their characteristics
4  What makes a successful team?
5  Team roles and relationships
6  Motivation & motivating

Lean into leadership.png

Making the move from Manager to Leader doesn't happen over night and doesn't happen in one step.

There are different skills and qualities needed for leadership than for management.  And there are many times when someone perceived as A Leader will need to Manage, and where a person perceived as A Manager will need to lead

Lean into Leadership is a 5-module course which looks at those different skills and qualities, how to adopt and embrace them; and then helps ident
ify where you will need to use Leadership and where you will need to use Management; and how to successfully be able to do both

The modules are:

  1. Introduction to Management & Leadership

  2. Recognising situational needs

  3. Balancing Management & Leadership

  4. Developing Flexibility & Adaptability

  5. Communication & Influence

  6. Leading Change and Continual Improvement

Charities can only change their part of the world, and work towards achieving their mission, by having the right people in post, and those people having the support they need to do their job well.

The pandemic and the cost-of-living crisis, and the extra demands theses are making on organisations and colleagues, mean that what was already a labour of love, is just getting harder.

Many of your colleagues are struggling – and your charity might be struggling too.

This struggling might not yet be identifiable.  But the chances are you're experiencing or seeing some of the symptoms.  We know this is a lot to add to what was already a highly charged, passionate, and determined sector.

This is a lot of pressure.
